No Penguins in Detroit River!
Windsor is a small Canadian city that is situated along the Detroit River, which connects Lake Erie to Lake St. Clair.
For years, the people of Windsor have been using a unique phrase to inspire one another to keep pushing forward and to never give up on their dreams. It is away of encouraging one another.
The story behind this is an interesting and inspiring one.
In the early 1960s, a group of school children from Windsor went on a field trip to the Detroit Zoo. One of the children, a small teenage boy named Timmy, had never seen a penguin before and was completely mesmerized by them. He was so captivated that when he got home, he told his parents and the entire neighborhood that he had seen a penguin in the Detroit River.
Of course, everyone believed that Timmy was just imagining things, but his enthusiasm was infectious. The adults in the neighborhood started telling each other and their children about the penguin in the river, and soon it became a well-known local legend that persisted for decades.

Having that in mind when I heard about outdoor city funded yoga classes being held by the shores, I knew I had to go to take my chances to dive deeper in its foundation.
The river has a special energy that lifts up your spirits, and the view is amazing. Being part of a group, synchronizing movements in unison, made me feel connected with nature in a way that is resonating.
